Tips to Keep Your Bathroom Organized Without Being Cluttered

It’s not surprise that the bathroom is usually the most cluttered area of a house. The bathroom is usually the smallest area of a house which is why it gets so cluttered so easily. Often times you’ll find that you have a closet, under the sink area, cabinet or countertop available. You might think you can’t do much this limited space but there are options available to maximize the space.

The first place to start is by going through your drawers and medicine cabinets. Look at the expiration date on your medicines and throw away anything that is outdated. You’ll also want to pitch any makeup that is old. If you find yourself questioning items, go ahead and just pitch those too. Not only will you be freeing up space which will help you be able to reorganize items but you’ll also be throwing away items that are no longer safe to use.

A great option to help organize your drawers is organizer trays. These trays have slots in them that will keep everything from rolling to the back of the drawer and also give you easier access to items.

If you find that you are still really limited on space check out your local hardware store and look at shelving units especially for the bathroom. A great option is a unit that has been specifically designed to go above the toilet. You can store all your bath supplies such as shampoos, body wash, soaps, razors, etc here. Another option you might want to consider is purchasing a couple decorative baskets to store items in. This will help keep the bathroom less de-cluttered and nicer looking.

Cleaning supplies can quickly overtake the area under your sink, if this is where you tend to store these items that is. It’s easy to forget about this area because it’s kind of like that phrase ‘out of sight, out of mind’. The easiest way to de-clutter this area and keep it organized is by utilizing a cleaning caddy to store the necessary cleaning items.

You can keep towels, clothes, robes, etc from piling up on the floor by simply investing in hooks and applying them to the back of the door or to the wall. Not only will this keep the floor area clear, it will also prevent these items from becoming mildewed.

As for your bathroom countertops, keep only the basic necessities here. Things like your toothbrush and toothpaste are items that get used on a daily basis so keeping them on the countertop is ok. You can use a toothbrush holder to help keep them all in one area and organized.

Because the bathroom is used by everyone it tends to be harder to keep tidy and organized than other rooms of the home. It will be easier to keep picked up if everyone does their part and keeps track of their own items.
